Does halfin reverse the original blockchain transaction?

No — on-chain payments are final and cannot be reversed at the protocol level. A refund is a new outbound transfer that returns value to the payer, bound to the invoice they originally paid so the return is traceable back to that payment. Network fees and on-chain rates apply to the outbound transaction.
