What happens if a customer sends slightly too little USDC?

The invoice is marked underpaid and the shortfall is recorded against it rather than discarded — commonly the customer's wallet quoted the amount before a network fee. Decide your policy up front: request the remainder, settle partially, or void the cycle. Do not silently fulfill on an underpayment. An overpayment is recorded the same way, so you can refund or credit the surplus.
