FAQ

What happens when an invoice expires?

When the validity window passes without enough settling on-chain, the invoice closes and an invoice.expired webhook fires. That is the authoritative signal that the on-time path is over: the locked amount is no longer being held open for an on-time payment, and your backend can release the cart or mark the quote stale. The important part is what an expired invoice does not do — it does not throw away money. A deposit that arrives after expiry is not silently lost; it surfaces as an invoice.late_deposit event so the funds stay matched and accountable, and you decide how to treat the order.
